Rescheduled 2022 Dates for April & July!

The Shivering Songs Festival is pleased to announce new dates for its 2022 edition, offering a number of scaled back events from April 13-16, as well as a full weekend of music set for July 15-17 that will act as the second annual installment of Sweltering Songs.

April events will include performances by Juno Award winners Bahamas and Rose Cousins, Halifax’s eclectic jazz singer Zamani, rootsy, bluesy rocker Ariel Posen, idiosyncratic and literary The Burning Hell, emotionally driven, alternative-pop singer Kim Harris, alt-folk singer-songwriter Kylie Fox, indie-rock, folky and punky Jeffrey Lewis, and more! These April events will occur between April 13-16 in some of our favorite Shivering Songs venues: The Tipsy Muse, The Cap, Wilmot Church, and the Fredericton Playhouse

Tickets for Bahamas’ April 13th show are still available, exclusively through The Fredericton Playhouse Box Office. Previously purchased tickets for the long awaited Rose Cousins show will be honored, while additional tickets are on sale now at www.shiveringsongs.com. Cousins will perform back-to-back evening shows at Wilmot Church on April 14th and 15th. Tickets for Sarah Slean and Hawksley Workman’s Playhouse show on March 11th are also still available via the Playhouse Box Office. Tickets for all other April shows will go on sale Thursday, March 10th at 10AM on www.shiveringsongs.com.

To ensure that we are able to host a weekend-long festival as originally planned for 2022, we are ecstatic to announce that we will hold our second annual installment of Sweltering Songs this July 15-17 on Carleton Street. Sweltering Songs will offer a chance to see amazing artists in an open-air venue, during warmer weather. July artist announcements will follow across the next month.

“We’re really excited to return after what felt like such a long wait,” said Festival co-organizer, Zach Atkinson. “This announcement celebrates so many local and regional artists, and we’re so grateful to bring this incredible array of talent to Fredericton. Our community has been a great source of support during this time, so we strive to highlight local artists and small businesses downtown, as a way to say thanks after the difficult winter hiatus.”

Organizers are working with both existing venues and new spaces, to create a concert experience that ensures a safe, comfortable environment for all artists, patrons, volunteers, and support staff. Venue-specific COVID-19 safety protocols will be detailed at the point of purchase, as well as at www.shiveringsongs.com

A midwinter celebration of songwriting and storytelling, and flagship partner of Fredericton FROSTival, Shivering Songs hosts internationally renowned artists in historic and intimate spaces throughout Downtown Fredericton, on the unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people.
