2022 Festival Dates Announced

Shivering Songs 2002 will take place January 18th – 23rd. Stay tuned for announcements about artists and ticket information.

New Brunswick’s Shivering Songs Festival is pleased to announce a sensational winter lineup including performances by Juno Award winners Bahamas and Rose Cousins, Halifax’s eclectic jazz singer Zamani, rootsy, bluesy Ariel Posen, psychedelic and eccentric rockers, The Brood, electronic duo Senior Citizen, singer-songwriter Julie Doiron, the analogue project JOYFULTALK, bluegrass wonder Alan Jeffries, and more! The Shivering Songs festival is set for January 18-23 in Fredericton. Live events will feature reduced capacity venues and safety protocols, in cooperation with the New Brunswick Department of Public Safety. Proof of double vaccination and ID will be required upon admission.

Tickets for Bahamas are still available exclusively through The Fredericton Playhouse Box Office. Patrons who have held on to their tickets for the long-awaited Rose Cousins show are already good to go! The remainder of tickets go on sale this Friday, November 26th at 10AM and are available exclusively here. Additional festival line-up, events, and details roll out in the coming weeks.

Organizers are working with both existing venues and new spaces, to create a socially distanced concert experience that ensures a safe, comfortable environment for all artists, patrons, volunteers, and support staff. Venue-specific COVID-19 safety protocols will be detailed at the point of purchase, as well as at www.shiveringsongs.com, following the release of the festival schedule.

“We’re really excited to be presenting an incredible array of talent to Fredericton this January,” said Festival co-organizer, Zach Atkinson. “This announcement celebrates so many local and regional artists. We wanted this year’s festival to serve as a renaissance of live music after a long hiatus and scaled-back events. Our community has been a great source of support during this time, so we’re bringing them some spectacular music to cure the ‘winter blues.’ As always, we strive to focus our efforts on supporting local artists and small businesses downtown, as a way to say thanks.”

A midwinter celebration of songwriting and storytelling, and flagship partner of Fredericton FROSTival, Shivering Songs hosts internationally renowned artists in historic and intimate spaces throughout Downtown Fredericton, on the unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people.
